Previously, the GDL derby was between SuperSport United and the Brazilians. However, SuperSport United was sold in July 2025 and rebranded as Siwelele.
The club began competing in the GDL this season under its new identity. Despite the Siwelele Premier Soccer League (PSL) club relocating to Bloemfontein, its academy structures remain in Pretoria.
Siwele came out of the blocks on fire at the start of the season, topping the table, but they have cooled off since then and are now in sixth place with 34 points. Bafana Ba Style, the defending champions, are in good form and second in the standings with 47 points.

Siwelele is under pressure from Panorama, which is eyeing Siwele’s sixth place. The Roodepoort-based club lies seventh with 31 points.
Sundowns, meanwhile, will aim to narrow the gap to the Kaizer Chiefs, who lead the way with 55 points. ‘Downs, though, have two games in hand and will be focused on making them count, starting with their Sunday showdown against Siwelele.
Amakhosi plays away at Mark Park on Saturday, facing Wits Juniors.
Randburg tackles Rockefvs. They recently passed Rockefvs and took over third spot, but only one point separates the sides, with Randburg on 39 points to Rockefvs’s 38. The Pretoria club will enjoy the home ground advantage, however, with the match to be played at the Association of the Portuguese Community of Pretoria (ACCP) Club.
Remember Elite Sport Academy (RESA), currently in fifth place with 36 points, will closely monitor the result of the Rockefvs versus Randburg match. They take on Future of Africa at Pinnacle Rynfield on Saturday.
Seven’s Academy, at the bottom of the standings, plays Panorama at the Woodlands International College.
In other Saturday fixtures, Highlands Park hosts Joburg City, Pitso Mosimane Youth Football (PMYF) welcomes Jomo Cosmos, and Africa School of Excellence takes on Prestige Football Development Academy.
