King Edward VII School (KES) secured the Inanda Hoops Classic Challenge title for a second consecutive year, defeating St Benedict’s College in the u18 boys’ final at St David’s Marist Inanda on Sunday.

Saheti lifted the U15 trophy after beating St John’s College in the title game.

KES also faced St Benedict’s in the 2025 final,  with the Reds scoring a tight two-point victory in a low-scoring game.

Heading into the final, both teams were undefeated. This time, they combined to score 30 points more than in the previous year’s title decider, and KES doubled their winning margin, winning 45-41.

Nde-Tagang Hecil of KES demonstrated exceptional leadership and performance and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

He was included in the All-Star Team alongside his team-mate Kamvelihle Sibankulu. Joshua Ogboro from St Stithians College, Lelentle Ntlhokwa from St David’s, and Mbuso Mashazi of St Benedict’s College joined the KES duo in the side.

The hosts, St David’s, took on St Stithians College in the bronze medal match, but Saints had their number, scoring a 57-49 victory.

Saheti’s U14 team caught the eye during the 2025 season, and those players continued their winning ways in the U15 final, beating St John’s College 38-33 to claim the honours.

KES picked up the bronze medal after a comfortable 40-27 win over Hilton College.

Alessandro Messina of Saheti received the MVP Award, and was joined in the All-Star Team by his teammate Dimitri Tzanos. Also named were Ben Enslin-Payne from KES, Luminjalo Mdlhuli from Hilton College, and Amani Masuku from St John’s College.
