Thirteen players from seven different sides make up the Boland squad for the 2026 Khaya Majola Week.

They’ll enjoy the advantage of playing on familiar pitches, with Stellenbosch hosting the event from Wednesday, 16 December to Sunday, 20 December.

The line-up features four players from Paarl Boys’ High, three from Paul Roos Gimnasium, and two from Somerset College.

Boland Landbou, HTS Drostdy, Paulus Joubert High, and the Gary Kirsten Foundation’s Catch Trust have one representative each in the squad.

Nathaniel Tsolo from the Cricket Boland Non-Profit Company (NPC) serves as the team’s head coach. Boishaai‘s Rudolph Buys is the assistant coach, and Gavin Lesch, of Laerskool Worcester-Oos,  will manage the side.

Owethu Moyi, Somerset College’s talisman with the bat, and his team-mate, all-rounder Buhle Mfunelwa, have made the side for a second year in a row.

The same can be said for batting all-rounder, Francois Prins of Boland Landbou, as well as for Paarl Boys’ High all-rounder and left-arm orthodox spinner, Aden Batt.

Janko Webb was a no-doubt selection, based on the bucketloads of runs he has scored this year. Recently, he scored a whopping 158 against Somerset College in the rain Schools SA20 competition.

Hailing from Paul Roos and playing on Stellenbosch pitches, with which he is familiar, could help Webb to translate his successes to the provincial stage.

Bryan Cochrane, HTS Drostdy’s batting all-rounder, often flies under the radar, but he’s one of those rare individuals who produces his best performances when his side is on the ropes.

He’s racked up a few match-winning half-centuries, and even in games where he only takes a wicket or two, those wickets are often those of the opposition’s dangermen. He will bear watching.
