Josh Williams of Stirling High School scored a hat-trick on his 100th appearance for the school to help his side record a 4-0 win over Hudson Park High in KuGompo City on Friday night.
Williams, who has been a core figure in the Stirling side for the past four seasons, continued his prolific form in front of a packed crowd at Stirling’s main AstroTurf.
Jarren Marillier scored the other goal for the hosts to give Stirling a second victory on the trot after they defeated Graeme College 6-0 in Makhanda a week ago.
Williams described his 100-cap match as a privilege.
“One hundred caps is a big milestone for me. I debuted for the first team on 12 March 2022, and it’s been a ride since,” he told SuperSport Schools News.
“It still feels like a privilege to wear the jersey 100 games later. I’m so grateful for the team and our amazing coaching staff.”
Despite a near-perfect performance against one of their rivals, Williams believes there’s still room for improvement.
“There is a lot we can tidy up from the game against Hudson, but the effort was 10 out of 10,” he said.
Next week, Stirling plays their final match of the term against Selborne College, a side they’ve come up short against in recent years.
“We still have one more game against Selborne College, so that’s the focus now. A win there would be the perfect way to close term two on a high,” Williams said.

“Personally, I want to stay consistent, make more of an impact, and help push for results next term. One hundred caps is nice, but I’m not done yet.”
Recording a victory against Selborne would be massive for Stirling, but it won’t come easily, with the men in black and white currently in top form.
They faced Cambridge High School away from home and bagged a 5-0 victory, courtesy of goals by Kungawo Vazi and Inathi Gxobole and a Reid Drake hat-trick, which included his 50th goal for the 1st XI.
In another Eastern Cape derby, Kingswood College beat St Andrew’s College 3-2 to clinch K-Day bragging rights.

Stirling 4-0 Hudson Park
Selborne 5-0 Cambridge
