SuperSport Schools’ Football on 216 presenter, Coscar Yika, has been appointed to the Technical Team of the South African U20 National Team, coached by Raymond Mdaka.
Under Mdaka’s leadership, South Africa achieved a historic milestone by winning the U20 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) for the first time in May 2025.
The Amajita lifted the title after a 1-0 win over Morocco, with the winning goal scored by Gomolemo Kekana.
Football on 216 is a youth football development show that showcases school and academy matches, upcoming talent, and tactical analysis. It is broadcast on DStv Channel 216 every Monday at 20:00.
The show features primary studio hosts, including Yvette Mhlauli, also known as Flozza Bozza. Mhlauli joined SuperSport Schools as a presenter after placing in the top three of the SuperSport MVP Talent Search.
Yika serves as the resident tactical analyst for Football on 216. He holds a CAF-B Coaching License and is a certified Performance Analyst.

In his capacity as a tactical expert and technical analyst, Yika primarily leads the “Coaches’ Corner” segment, which has become highly popular among coaches and analysts nationwide, but particularly with the Gauteng Development League (GDL) and among development-focused coaching professionals.
Yika provides technical game analysis, including player positioning evaluations, and reviews matches from development leagues, including the GDL, the Mancosa KwaZulu-Natal High Schools Football Association (KZNHSFA) leagues, and the Absa Wildeklawer Soccer Tournament.
Recently, Yika joined Mdaka’s and Amajita’s preparations to defend their title in the forthcoming U20 Cosafa Championship, which they won in Mozambique in 2024.
In 2025, South Africa fielded an U17 squad for the U20 Cosafa Championship, which formed part of the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Games, in Namibia. Under the leadership of coach Vela Khumalo, and with rising star Emile Witbooi in the line-up, South Africa beat Malawi 3-0 in the final.
In remarks to the media on Tuesday, coach Mdaka noted that Yika has contributed valuable experience and expertise to the team.
Yika has collaborated with several grassroots and development organisations within the GDL and the ABC Motsepe League.
He has also served as a set-piece coach and performance analyst for Young Pirates in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League, while also providing analytical services through Visionary Football Solutions, a football consultancy he founded.
The consultancy delivers analytical intelligence, performance data, and video analysis for players, coaches, and academies, as well as for clubs, including Chess in the KZN ABC Motsepe League, and the GDL’s Prestige Football Development Academy.
Amajita is currently in camp and departs for Mozambique on Thursday. They’re in Group B of the TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2026 | COSAFA Qualifiers with Lesotho, Angola, and Eswatini.
The championship will be played in Maputo from 18 to 27 September, and Amajita have their eyes on winning the title again.
The stakes extend beyond the championship itself. The Cosafa tournament serves as a qualifying pathway for the TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football (CAF) u20 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Ghana in 2027.
