The annual Kearsney Independent Schools Stayers’ Basketball Tournament (ISSBT), which tipped off on Friday, concludes on Monday.
St Stithians College and St Benedict’s College, who established themselves as strong competitors on Saturday, completed their group stage matches undefeated on Sunday.
In their final Pool A matches, St Stithians defeated Hilton College 56-48 and subsequently secured a 54-34 victory over Kearsney.

St Benedict’s College, competing in Pool B, defeated Saheti 52-39. They also won 47-30 against Clifton College.
St Stithians College faces a tough challenge and a familiar foe in the semifinals on Monday at the Skweyiya Sportzone when they take on St John’s College, who finished as the runner-up to Kearsney in the 2025 ISSBT.
St John’s College concluded their Pool B assignments with a 37-25 victory over St Alban’s College.
Standing between St Benedict’s and the final is the defending champion, Kearsney College.
The home side will fancy their chances on their home court. However, in a knockout game and with a place in the final on the line, anything could happen.
On Sunday, Kearsney scored a convincing win over Hilton College, triumphing 60-42.
They were well beaten in their second outing, going down by 20 points to St Stithians. That defeat, though, could serve as a timely reminder that nothing but the players’ best will do on Monday.
