The annual LSEN-week (for learners with special educational needs) kicks-off this Friday at the Baysville School of Skills in East London. Last year’s unofficial champions, Eastern Province, will be looking to bag their third successive title at this year’s tournament.
They will open their 2026-campaign in the main match of the opening day against the Leopards. Last year, they secured the unofficial title for a second year in a row by narrowly defeating Western Province by 11-10 in the main match of the week.
They also defeated WP in the main match of the 2024-edition by 17-7.
Western Province will start their tournament against South Western Districts in the main curtain-raiser on opening day.
The first match of this year’s tournament between the Griffons and the Sharks will kick-off at 09:10. The Blue Bulls will take on the Pumas in their opening clash in East London.
The match-up between the Golden Lions and Free State also promises to provide some sparks.
This tournament started back in 1981 as the Lemmer Week.
