Most experienced Garsie Ysbere’s campaign for third successive Wildeklawer T20-title still on track

GARSFO Ruan Coetsee and Riaan

KIMBERLEY. – Hoërskool Garsfontein’s campaign to secure a third successive Wildeklawer T20 title in Kimberley is solidly on track.

The Garsie Ysbere will face Hans Moore from Benoni in the semi-finals of the tournament hosted by Diamantveld. Another formidable side, Boland Landbou, takes on Kempton Park in the other semi-final.

The team from Garsfontein is the most experienced side in the school’s history. In Saturday’s match against Kempton Park, Riaan Coetsee and Riaan Boshoff received their 100th caps for the Ysbere.

What made their 100th matches even more special was that the game, played on the Diamond Oval, resulted in a three-wicket win for Garsies over Kempton Park. Coetsee picked up two wickets for only 16 runs.

Another three players – captain Wikus du Preez, Righardt Joubert, and Charl van Staden have also earned more than 100 1st XI caps.
