The 2017 school rugby season is officially underway. The biggest annual sports day in South Africa, the Fichardtpark Clover Sports Day, was held on Saturday in Bloemfontein. The first round of the Tuks Series was also played with the highlight of the first round being the match between Menlopark and Transvalia.
Menlopark of Pretoria came out on top in a thrilling encounter with 40-36. Transvalia is definitely not a team to take lightly this year as they kicked of their season a week ago with a 18-10 victory over HTS Middelburg in a friendly match.
