SOR NuusGrey College of Bloemfontein dropped three places on School of Rugby’s latest rankings after suffering their first defeat of the season of 17-7 at the hands of Monument from Krugersdorp on Monday at the Wildeklawer-tournament in Kimberley. This victory combined with their victory of 22-20 over Boland Landbou on the first day see Monument move up six places from nr. 14 to eighth.

As it is clear that our rankings does not rate which school will beat another on where it is placed on the rankings nor the potential a team has. It is purely based on team’s performances thus far in the season. The team from Krugersdorp suffered defeats at the hands of Paarl Boys’ High and Paul Roos Gimnasium at the St. John’s College Festival earlier in the season.

Boishaai is still ranked our top side after keeping their unbeaten record be defeating Louis Botha (26-7) and EG Jansen (19-14) at Wildeklawer. The team from Paarl will take on Grey College in their annual interschools this Saturday. In the Tuks Series it will also get interesting as Monument will face the unbeaten Nelspruit Rhinos, while Garsfontein will meet EG Jansen in the other semi-final of the tournament on Friday at the LC de Villiers Stadium in Pretoria.

Oakdale Landbou moved up a place to second although they also suffered their first defeat of the season at Wildeklawer. The team from Riversdal came second against HTS Middelburg (24-23). The Rooi Bulle is not even rated under our Top 30 teams of this week.

We will complete all the team’s stats so far during the day. We lost some time by driving back from Kimberley on Tuesday and with the Tuks Series games being played on Friday.
