There is no doubt that Grey College of Bloemfontein is for a second year in a row the top schoolboy rugby team in South Africa. The team finished the 2019 season unbeaten after putting Paul Roos Gimnasium to the sword by 51-28 in Stellenbosch on Saturday.
Paarl Gimnasium will finish the season in second position after only suffering the solitary defeat against Grey College (33-47) during Wildeklawer. Their biggest arch-rivals, Paarl Boys’ High, takes the 3rd position after suffering only two defeats against Grey College (24-43) and Paarl Gimnasium (17-18) respectively.
Menlopark was the biggest movers on our latest rankings after lifting the Virsekerbeker for the first time ever. The Parkies was crowned champions on Saturday after defeating Helpmekaar by 44-17 in the final.
Durbanville probably caused the biggest upset of the season by beating Stellenberg by 46-39 in an exciting interschools. The first time Durbies managed to come out on top in this annual clash since 2006.

These rankings are not an official ranking as there is no official ranking on schoolboy level and this is only to get the discussion on school rugby on South Africa flowing. We however take our responsibility on reporting school rugby very seriously.
