Mancosa KZNHSFA Leagues close with cheerful wins and solemn losses

The second term of the Mancosa KwaZulu-Natal High Schools Football Association (KZNHSFA)  Coastal and Inland Leagues concluded this week with champions being crowned.

On Tuesday, Glenwood secured the Coastal A-League title by defeating the 2025 champions, Westville Boys High.

The next day, Edendale Technical High, in only their second season in the Inland A-League, defeated the 2025 runner-up, Carter High, in the final, to lift the prestigious title for the first time.

The Inland C-League title was won by Umvuzo Secondary School at the end of May, following a narrow 1-0 victory against Siyanda.

On Thursday, Brettonwood and Queensburgh High faced off at Queensburgh High in the final of the Coastal B-League title. The stakes were high, with both a championship title and promotion to the 2027 KZN Coastal A-League on the line.

Queensburgh High won a tight contest 1-0, thanks to a penalty converted by Siphesihle Danisa in the first half.

On Friday, Durban Academy captured the KZN Coastal C-League title with a 2-0 victory over Kloof High. Goals from Simthandile Faku and Mlondolozi Mdlalose secured promotion to the KZN Coastal B-League next season.

In the Inland B-League, Alexandra High B hosted Maritzburg College B. There was nothing to separate the sides in regulation time, with neither team scoring. That sent the contest to the penalty spot, from which Alex snatched a 3-2 victory.
