The Australian Schools team won the first of its three matches on its tour to New Zealand, beating Fiji Schools 50-15 at Levin on Friday evening.

The bigger Fijians did not frighten the Australians who were too quick, too skilled and too creative for the Fijians.

At half-time Australian schools led 24-10 after Fiji had opened the scoring with a try and the Australians had answered with two tries by wing Joey Fittock. Second-half tries by Reece Hewat and Sione Tuipulotu increased the lead to 31-10 before the final flourish.
