While Selborne College will seek redemption for an earlier loss to Dale College, Queen’s College will aim to inflict pain on the in-form Graeme College in two heavyweight Border showdowns on Saturday.
Selborne will be looking to turn home-ground advantage into something tangible when they take on their old Qonce rivals, Dale, in KuGompo City at 15.00, having endured a chastening 15-55 defeat to Queen’s last weekend.
Dale edged out Selborne 31-27 when the sides met earlier in the season, so coach Roy Godfrey‘s Selborne side will be determined to settle the score.
They can call on an attacking backline led by dangerous fullback Edward Malinzi, but they face a Dale side with a point to prove after they went down to Graeme College last week.
The Dalians have their own attacking weapon at fullback, Caleb Smith, whose pace and running ability have made him a marked man for opposition defences. If flyhalf Sonwabise Dyani can dictate the pattern of play, the energetic visitors could prove difficult to contain.
Selborne, though, has plenty of firepower. Their pack, with No 8 Travis Enslin leading a formidable loose trio that also features Daniel Rushmere and Lwandla Bacela, will look to establish control up front.
If the Selbornians can generate sufficient pressure through their forwards, it could go a long way towards blunting the threat posed by the Dale backs.
Graeme College, meanwhile, faces one of the Eastern Cape’s toughest assignments when they travel to Komani to take on Queen’s at the Rec Ground, widely regarded as their “House of Pain“, at 15:00.

The Queenians showed what they are capable of in last week’s emphatic 40-point win over Selborne, ruthlessly capitalising on mistakes to turn a competitive encounter into a rout.
That will place considerable pressure on Graeme, who will be without three of their key playmakers, with captain Erin Nelson, fullback Lucritia Magau, and scrumhalf Luke Doyle all representing the SA U18 team.
However, Graeme has built considerable depth during their outstanding 2026 campaign and will not be prepared to surrender their impressive record without a fight. With Akho Tonjeni and Andrew Muir leading a strong pack, the visitors will aim to take the game to Queen’s from the outset. The hosts will be without Ncuthu Kepe, who will also be in action for the SA U18 side.
In other Border action, Cambridge High hosts Hudson Park High at 13:35, with the visitors the hot favourite to win, while Ooskus Gimnasium travels to Stirling High for a Friday afternoon clash at 15:45.
