PRG scrumhalf Jaedon Powell and flyhalf Travis Pheiffer have been distributing at speed over the course of the season, and the Farmers will need to have a cohesive defensive set-up to stunt their momentum. Otherwise, the Maroon Machine backs will visit behind the try line often.
Boland Landbou’s outside centre, Divan Meyer, is a reliable goal-kicker and a key player in the visitors’ backline. His game management of the Farmers’ defence and offence will be crucial.
The visitors’ team also includes flyhalf Caleb Seroot, who returns to the 1st XV for his first match of the third term.
The Stellenbosch locals feature a relentless forward pack. Blindside flank Gerard Bekker, lock Stef de Villiers, and openside flank Christian le Roux provide constant jackal threats.
Tighthead prop Tiaan Malan has been one of the Farmers’ standout players, and Paul Roos loosehead prop Sian van Heerden will have his work cut out for him, as Malan can be a tricky customer in the set scrums.

Hoërskool Hugenote (Wellington) flyhalf Li-Grant Summery and hooker Ravesh Padayachiey proved how crucial they are to their side’s efforts in last week’s 28-45 loss against Hoërskool Charlie Hofmeyr.
They’ll be key players once again when the Wellington locals host Hoërskool Hopefield at 12:00 on Saturday.
The visitors will need to mark the flyhalf tightly, while Padayachiey is solid off the back of the rolling maul, and is ferocious when having a go from the base of the ruck.
It promises to be a physical battle, as Hugenote isn’t shy about hitting it up hard among the forwards. Against a team that likes to pack on the phases, Hopefield’s locks, Nieken Lubbe and Renier Hanekom, will aim to shift the momentum with lineout steals. Having not played since May, the visitors will need to hope their practice sessions have prepared them adequately for the game.
Hoërskool Punt‘s forwards performed well in a hard-fought 27-31 loss to DF Akademie last weekend. Standout lock Aidan Bancroft will want to be rewarded with victory this time out, as the Mossel Bay outfit hosts Hoërskool Swartland at 12:15.
The Malmesbury locals are well rested, having not played since June, which was when outside centre Adieu Crawford scored a brace in a convincing 52-5 triumph over Hoërskool Tygerberg.
Last year, Swartland won 25-15 against Punt, and they will feel confident of repeating that success. However, Punt will offer a stern challenge at home. They’ll be battle-hardened and determined to reverse last weekend’s loss.
When compared to his usual contributions, Hoërskool Hermanus fullback Jesse Arnoldus has been quiet on the score sheet recently. He’ll be out to change that against Hoërskool Charlie Hofmeyr at 12:50 on Saturday.
Charlies claimed a 42-27 win against Hermanus last year, playing at home, and they’ll be focused on another win to retain their unbeaten record.
While Charlie Hofmeyr loosehead prop Dewald Jaars and fullback Shandley Burrows wear the lowest and highest numbers in the starting XV respectively, both were at the top of the score sheet with a brace each in their 45-28 win over Hoërskool Punt last weekend. Jaars provides strength in the front row, while Burrows accelerates into space from deep.
Punt fullback Ray-Zandro Hendricks will need to be at his defensive best if he wants to keep his opposite number at bay. Both speedsters will play pivotal roles in their respective backlines’ attacking structures.
