Flyhalf Travis Pheiffer has been a key to Paul Roos Gimnasium‘s (PRG) exciting attacking brand of rugby in their 2026 campaign. He was selected for the Western Province XV for the FNB Craven Week, but showed his class and was selected in the no 10 jersey for the South African Schools side.
On Saturday, SACS will need to have strategies in place to minimise Pheiffer’s impact on the game. Their battle kicks off at 12:30 on Memorial-A Field in Cape Town.

The last time the sides met, the Maroon Machine triumphed 22-3 at home. Given the attacking pedigree in the teams, expect more points to be scored on Saturday.
Jake Dave is a top performer for SACS at flyhalf. He was a leading performer for Western Province (WP) at the Academy Week.
Lock RJ Cunningham also spent time at the Academy Week and will surely want to test his skills against PRG in the lineout.
Paul Roos lock Reuben Winter is ferocious and served as an enforcer for the WP XV Craven Week outfit, which made it to the final in Gqeberha.
The Stellenbosch locals have the odds stacked in their favour; however, SACS has proved troublesome against top opposition this season.
Their biggest losses came in 16-32 and 7-24 defeats to Paarl Boys’ High and Maritzburg College, respectively. If there is any complacency in the Maroon Machine’s ranks, they’ll be in for a rude awakening.
Milnerton High will be on the hunt for a second win of the season when they host Hoërskool Tygerberg at 11:20.
When they met in 2025, Millies powered to a convincing 47-12 victory. It has, however, been a rough campaign so far for the hosts, who have registered a win and a draw from their 12 games.
Likhona Filtana, who has played at both prop and eighthman, returns from his time in the WP XV Craven Week side. He’ll be a key player for Milnerton.
Despite their tough season, Milnerton will be confident that they can again overcome the Tigers, who have also struggled, producing two wins and a draw from their 11 fixtures.
For both sides, a winning start to the third term would breathe new life and optimism into their campaigns.
