Hilton College was a class above the rest in Pool A, while Bishops, the front-runners in Pool B, continued to score goals at a rapid rate on Friday, the second day of the SACS Water Polo Tournament in Cape Town.
Hilton and Bishops were two of the six teams that dominated the field on Thursday, and they picked up from where they left off at the SACS Aquatic Centre.

Hilton won three matches before sharing a pulsating draw with the hosts, with both scoring in the clash’s final minute.
The boys from KwaZulu-Natal defeated St Benedict‘s 10-2, St Stithians College 6-1, and Wynberg Boys’ High 4-2, before playing to a 4-4 draw with SACS.

Oliver Hunter, Bradley Van Loggerenberg (2), and Griffon Le Meme were on target for Hilton, while Adam Maggott, Connor Mortlock, Finn Lecuona, and Nick Wilson scored for SACS.
It was the only blemish on Hilton’s record after they had won seven in a row.
For SACS, it was vital to avoid defeat after they were held to a 4-4 draw by St Andrew’s College earlier in the day.
They beat St Alban’s College and Grey High in their other matches.
Those results meant coach Devon Card‘s troops finished the day in second place in Pool A, with Wynberg Boys’ High and St Stithians College completing the top four.
The Wynberg boys were impressive, edging out last year’s runner-up, St David’s Marist Inanda, and also defeating St Benedict’s and Grey College.
Against Bennies, Wynberg’s dangerman, Riley Clarke, scored twice, as did Sam Mocke, while Hayden Morom netted a hat-trick. Caleb Harley completed the scoring in an 8-5 victory.
St Stithians produced mixed results. They won against Grey High and Grey College but suffered losses to St Andrew’s College and Hilton.
Grey College and St Alban’s ended the day winless.
In Pool B, it was all about Bishops, who emphatically maintained their unbeaten run.
Coach Jabulani Sibiya‘s players were clinical in four victories over Selborne College, Clifton College, Parktown Boys’ High, and the defending champion, St John’s College.
Timothy Young and Matt Fenn continued their fine goalscoring form while Harry Ford, James Malan, Noah Viuff, and Dominic Zulch chipped in with valuable contributions.
St John’s ended the day third in Pool B, behind Bishops and Rondebosch Boys’ High, and ahead of Northwood and Clifton.
After a flawless day one, coach Jon-Marc De Carvalho‘s St John’s side suffered two losses on Friday, going down to Bishops and the day’s surprise package, Northwood. But they defeated Bosch 5-3 in an entertaining encounter.
Northwood, after an average showing on day one, made waves on Friday. They stunned St John’s 5-4 before picking up further wins over Selborne College, Paul Roos, and Pretoria Boys High to cap off a memorable day in the Mother City.
Clifton ended the day in fifth with four wins, three losses, and a draw from their eight matches.
Meanwhile, Jeppe and Pretoria Boys High recorded two wins each, while Parktown Boys’ High remained winless.
The final day’s action kicks off early with an Eastern Cape derby between St Andrew’s College and Grey High at 06:50.
The first quarterfinal takes place at 10:40, with the final scheduled for 14:30.
