Both Stellenberg High and Hoërskool Outeniqua have produced strong seasons, especially the Jade Brigade, who have won 10 out of their 12 games. On the other hand, the Kwaggas have only lost three times in 11 matches.
Stellenberg hosts the George outfit at 12:30 in Bellville on Saturday, and they’ll lead on flyhalf Ethan van Biljon, who was chosen as an outside back for the SA Schools side because of his all-round ability. He’s the complete package: fast, intelligent, strong, and highly skilled with the right boot.

Outeniqua has a proven tradition of producing exciting backs, including current Springbok, Manie Libbok, and the current generation has lived up to the school’s creative reputation this season.
The lowest output this season came in a hard-fought defeat to their rivals, Oakdale Landbou, who won 27-21 in Riversdal in May.
Kwaggas’ scrumhalf Rufagon Hendricks distributes with speed and is constantly communicating with his fellow backs. He also possesses serious wheels and is a try-scoring threat with his searing pace.
Let’s not forget the forward quality that’ll be on show. Captain and prop Matthew Prins leads the team and leads the way. He was selected for the South African Schools side after the Craven Week. He has an excellent work rate and is often physically dominant in the scrums.
Jade Brigade lock Juvan Burden is a standout in every match and deservedly earned selection for the SA Schools side. In a thrilling 33-34 loss to SA Schools A, he performed smoothly in the lineouts and delivered some crunching tackles.
Both sides are filled with confidence and talent, but given the home advantage and their winning ways in 2026, Stellies will head into the battle as the favourite.
Before facing Paarl Gimnasium in their massive season-ending match on 1 August, Paarl Boys’ High visits Hoërskool Durbanville for a 13:00 showdown on Saturday.
Boishaai won the contest 54-14 in June 2025. Durbies‘ results have been a mixed bag, with six wins and seven losses. The game also serves as preparation for their big derby against Stellenberg, also on 1 August.
Durbanville has a lot to deal with at the lineouts and in the set scrums. Paarl Boys’ High prop Max Malan turned out for the Western Province Craven Week side, while lock AD Faul shone in the second row for the Western Province XV, excelling in the lineouts while going toe-to-toe with the opposition in the forward exchanges.
Durbies’ captain and eighthman, Muller Janse van Rensburg, will be excited to test himself against Boishaai’s fierce forwards.
If Boishaai is successful in attaining set-piece dominance, then backs, like inside centre Jeneal Davids, could create some exciting memories.
Utility back Farrel-Leigh Dido, who has played most often as a centre, was Durbanville’s sole representative in that WP XV side, which made it to the Craven week final against Western Province. He and Davids are both fast and hard runners, known for scoring and creating tries from their line breaks.
In their opening game of the 2025 season, DF Akademie won 32-29 at Hoërskool Punt. The Mossel Bay school heads to Cape Town this weekend, seeking a win at DF. They kick off at 13:30.
Captain and hooker Meyer Brits will be a key player for the Capetonians. His tight five will look to him for guidance in the set-piece.
After a refreshing holiday, the Punt forwards will feel more ready than ever to take on the physical challenge. Regardless of the result, the clash will be an important outing for both sides as they strive for momentum and cohesiveness in their final handful of games.
