Hudson Park High brought their 2026 water polo season to an impressive close at the Inspired Cup Water Polo Tournament, hosted by Reddam House Helderfontein, with their girls’ first team claiming gold after an unbeaten campaign.
In their debut appearance at the tournament, the Hudson Park girls dominated their seven matches, firing in 86 goals while conceding only 14.
Those impressive statistics underlined their strength at opposite ends of the pool.
The KuGompo City school showed they meant business, recording a commanding 17-1 win over St Mary’s Waverley B in their opening match.
They kept up their winning ways with a series of authoritative wins in their other group-stage games, beating Rand Park High 14-0, Clarendon B 14-4, Rhenish 8-2, and Parktown Girls’ High 16-1.

In the semi-finals, they delivered another emphatic performance, defeating St Mary’s DSG Kloof 11–2 to book a place in the title decider, where they faced Rhenish for a second time.
The Stellenbosch side, beaten by six goals in their first meeting with Hudson Park, gave the Eastern Cape girls a tougher time the second time around. Hudson Park’s pedigree shone through, however, and they triumphed 6-4 to secure the silverware.
Their dominance was reflected in the individual awards and the Team of the Tournament.
Caylin MacKenzie was named the Goalkeeper of the Tournament, recognising her shutdown performances between the posts, and Kayden Glasgow, who scored an impressive 32 goals, won the Top Goal Scorer and Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.
Both were named in the team of the tournament, where they were joined by their teammates Amy-Ann Fortuin and Abby Batting.
In an all-KZN clash, Our Lady of Fatima beat St Mary’s DSG Kloof 6-2 to finish third.
