Last July, Paul Roos Gimnasium defeated Rondebosch Boys’ High 48-12 in Stellenbosch. On Saturday, at 12:10, they meet on the Tinkie Heyns Field in Cape Town.

‘Bosch has Linakho Mehlomakulu, who scored a try in their 19-17 win over SACS last weekend, at openside flank. He’s one of his side’s most reliable ball carriers, often helping the team to build momentum by getting over the gain line, and he’ll need to be effective to help the home team get across the line.
The Maroon Machine‘s blindside flank, Gerard Bekker, is another loose forward on whom to keep an eye. He’s a tough unit, difficult to stop, and he dotted down twice in Paul Roos Gimnasium’s convincing 64-19 victory over Hoërskool Durbanville last Friday evening.
The hosts are on a three-game winning streak, while the Paul Roos winning streak now stands at four games. They’ve lost only once, going down 10-20 to Stellenberg High.
Both sides are in good form, but with Rondebosch enjoying the home advantage, they may prove a tougher nut to crack than they were last season in Stellenbosch.
Hoërskool Strand clinched a 24-22 victory over Hoërskool Tygerberg last weekend. They host Milnerton High at 12:10. Millies lost a hard-fought clash to Hoërskool Bellville, going down 20-27 last Saturday.
When the teams met last August, Milnerton claimed a comfortable 41-18 win. They’ve endured a tough campaign this season, however, with only one draw and seven defeats on their record.
That hasn’t stopped the versatile Chadlin Sellidon from having a strong season. He contributed 10 of Millies’ 20 points last Saturday, scoring a try, and landing a penalty and a conversion.
Strand, on the other hand, has won their last two games. Playing at home, they’ll be confident of making it three on the trot.
Their openside flank Joshua Lourens and eighthman Rohan Bezuidenhout had strong games on the weekend, making plenty of tackles on defence while also collecting a try each.
